Another Australian KIA in Afghanistan and three more wounded in last week.

No exit plan for our 1550 personnel, yet US and other Coalition governments have published their planned withdrawal dates and contingent numbers.  Why the mantra “Stay the Course” when now obviously a “No Win” war (like Vietnam)?  With others progressively drawing down, the ISAF fire support and logistic, medevac, hospital, etc., support for the Australian contingent will be less immediate, reliable and available; hence further risking our troops in Oruzgan Province and associated operations.  Wth peace talks now underway with the Taliban, isn’t it time our Prime Minister took a stand and withdrew Australian troops from the 10 year debacle??

Have your say as a citizen in a democratic country.  Tell the Minister for Defence and the PM what you think should be done about us in Afghanistan.  So they get to know of your opinion, write and post letters rather than Emails – because experience has shown that Emails are frequently deleted and never logged, as letters apparently must be!!
