Almost Friday

Meet your Almost Friday crew – Thursday’s 8-9PM

Andrew Anderson grew up in Beaumaris and is a local resident who has worked in television and a bit of community radio for the past 31 years. In the early 90s he was the host of the award winning “The Worlds Best Breakfast Show” on Southern FM which was also programme of the year in 1991. Eager to try his hand in prime time Andrew joins the Almost Friday team to once again participate in an award winning radio programme.

Shane has been working in the television industry for over a decade. Originally from Ballarat he moved to Melbourne 6 years ago to join the world of entertainment at HSV 7. Shane says: “The Melbourne lifestyle is brilliant, and to be able to share my new experiences with Southern FM listeners will be exciting”. Shane is looking forward to working with such a talented group of people and working with the Almost Friday team as well.

George grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, has always loved the world of entertainment and started his radio career at community radio station 2NSB in Chatswood, where he co-hosted the popular Retro 80 Show with Loadman and The Fish under the pseudonym of “JD”. The show ran from 1998 to 2001, when George finally saw the light and moved to Melbourne. Being the owner of a pair of Sennheiser headphones, George is perfectly suited to radio and one day he would like to have his own variety show. George is a walking treasure-trove of trivia, which has no use in the real world, but in radio it just may be of interest to someone out there. Of his role in “Almost Friday”, George says: “I am really looking forward to working with such a talented team of professionals at one of Melbourne’s finest radio stations”.

POC is a local resident, living in Sandringham and started his career in the media in 1977 age 5. You may remember him form films such as “Annie get your AK47” and “Wrist flap away” the musical. POC loves a latte followed by a Shirley Temple chaser. He has a great knowledge of what goes on around the bayside suburbs having been kicked out of neighbourhood watch three times (court case pending).

Laurenna grew up in Ballarat and now resides in bayside Melbourne. No stranger (just strange) to radio, she produced at 3AW for a number of years before moving into television production and now flies around the skies every morning to inform viewers of the joys of Melbourne traffic. Laurenna enjoys yoga and running, she also loves the beach… just not the sand or saltwater.
