Purple Haze – Presenter profile: Mark Copolov Wednesdays 8pm – 10pm
I’ve been working at 88.3 Southern FM for a long time, after someone at Gold FM I was helping out suggested that ‘you should do something with your music knowledge’. I specialise in interviewing recording artists that I admire, mostly from the 60’s. These interviews were also broadcast nationally on the CBAA network for 4 years. Past interviewees include : Ringo Starr, Carly Simon, Phil Everly, Jeff Lynne, Sir George Martin, Neil Sedaka & Glenn Shorrock. I love being able to share my music & knowledge with people who enjoy hearing it!
Mark’s favourite artists include : The Beatles, The Doors, CCR, Ten Years After, The Guess Who, The Carpenters, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Doobie Brothers, E.L.O., Daddy Cool, The Masters Apprentices, Graham Bonnet, Carly Simon & many, many others.
Excerpts from Mark’s 70+ interviews can be seen & heard at www.mcopolov.com.
Mark works in the IT industry. The centre of his universe is his wife Rachel and two teenage children, Carly & Adam.
