“The Shacklefords” Documentary Now Podcast

The Shacklfords were a short-lived folk-country-pop act who issued two LPs (long playing records) and a few singles in the 1960s. The prime movers were Lee Hazlewood and Marty Cooper.

This four hour documentary, researched, written and presented by Andrew Rennie, was broadcast in two parts on Southern FM’s “Radio Gaga” programme. It introduces the group, and explores associated musical links to artists such as Bobby Bare, Bobby Day, Brian Hyland, Doug Warren, Leonard Lee, Nancy Sinatra, Sanford Clark, Shirley Goodman, The Fairlanes, The Marathons, Tommy Roe, Johnny Cash, Nancy Sinatra, Neil Young and many others.
