Southern FM link to WWII commemoration

Southern FM’s Colin Tyrus was proud to be chosen by British Army Music to narrate its special VJ80 video to commemorate the end of WWII on 15 August 1945, known as VP Day (Victory in the Pacific) or VJ Day (Victory over Japan)

This short documentary, produced by the Band of the Irish Guards features Forbidden Colours by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, performed by musicians from the Household Division. It reflects on the soldiers’ courage, their endurance in captivity, and the peace that followed. Music once led soldiers through war; today, British Army Music remembers those who fell.
