Junior baseballers aim for clean sweep

On Friday 15 March 2024 in Cheltenham, the Ormond-Glenhuntly Baseball Club Under-12 “Gold” team will be playing its final regular season game, with a chance to post a perfect 14-game unbeaten record, in what is for many of them, their first season of competitive baseball. Junior baseball is still a minority sport compared to cricket over the Australian summer, but this little volunteer-run club from Ormond has fielded two teams in the Friday night SouthEast Metro U12 competition, with one team undefeated, and the other team only losing four games, three of which were to their cross-club team-mates.
