In this podcast, Kingston Mayor Cr Georgina Oxley says she’s written to the State Planning Minister Sonya Kilkenny seeking extra time for Council and the community to comment on a secretive plan to build 900 three-storey units on Kingswood, Dingley Village. The Mayor also speaks to Colin Tyrus about Council’s recent breakfast meeting with local MPs as it seeks funding commitments with a Federal election looming. Priorities include roads and aged care. Cr Oxley says Council has secured Commonwealth funding for upgrades to both Namatjira Park in Clarinda ($9.2 million) and Le Page Park in Cheltenham ($5.8 million). She talks about a national award for some of Kingston’s Early Learning staff. City of Kingston Charitable Fund and Bi-annual Grants programs are now open for applications. On the arts and entertainment front, the Mayor talks about
Mordi Fest, on the first weekend in March and the Moorabbin Music + Arts event at Kingston City Hall.
