Remembering Dollar Bill and the switch to decimal currency

Southern FM newsman Colin Tyrus wasn’t quite into his teens when Australia switched to decimal currency on the 14th of February 1966. But he certainly remembers the old imperial currency with its “pounds, shillings and pence”. In this podcast, Colin recalls the media campaign, featuring the animated character Dollar Bill, that helped Australians to make sense of the new dollars and cents.
