Radio Ga Ga presents Girls out front
This Saturday on Radio Ga Ga we pay homage to the chicks who fronted up, centre staged, front womanned, dominated and led various bands over the last 50 years. There are not many to mention early on but Mama Cass Elliott (The Mamas and Papas), Martha Reeves (Martha and The Vandellas) and Diana Ross (The Supremes) got the ball rolling, Debbie Harry (Blondie) , Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) and Cherie Curry (The Runaways) took it up a notch, Wendy James (Transvision Vamp), Annie Lennox(Eurythmics) and Courtney Love (Hole) went to the next level and these days it’s Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Hayley Williams (Paramore) and Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) who are the flag bearers for the girls who front the best bands. Yes, from 10am Saturday tune in to the women who lead their bands.
