It is Australian Music Week on Southern FM in the lead up to Australia Day and Radio Ga Ga (the program with a different theme each week) will be throwing in its Australiana by following up last weeks “forgotten songs” special with a “forgotten Australian chart topping number one hits”. None of them are completely forgotten of course because they were number one hits but you will certainly get a few surprises and think “I didn’t know that reached number 1” or “how the hell did that reach number 1?” These are not all songs by Aussie artists just songs that topped the Aussie charts that we don’t remember that well now. Check these tunes out as a sampler to give you an idea of what lies in store on Saturday morning from 10am.

“My Coo Ca Choo” – Alvin Stardust

“Love Will Keep Us Together” – Captain & Tenille

“Touch Me” – Samantha Fox

“Poison” – Bardot

“Mmmmbop” – Hanson

“Where do you go to my lovely” – Peter Sarstedt

Yes, there will be some absolute shockers, but there will be some beauties as well, along with trivia and fun facts.
